Another incredible day of service is in the books! The Creative Homes team was proud to once again take part in Hearts and Hammers Project Day 2025, one of our favorite ways to give back each year. It’s a chance for our team to step away from our desks and job sites to make a real impact in the community, using our hands, hearts, and homebuilding expertise to help those in need.
Hearts and Hammers is a Twin Cities based nonprofit organization that helps low-income homeowners, particularly seniors, veterans, and people living with disabilities, continue living safely and independently in their own homes. Each year, they organize Project Day, which brings together volunteer teams from across the metro to repair and restore homes in need of exterior updates.
At Creative Homes, we’re honored to partner with Hearts and Hammers annually. It’s a day rooted in teamwork, compassion, and meaningful connection, and we’re proud to use our skills to make a difference.
Just a few miles apart, two Creative Homes crews spent the day making a meaningful difference by using our skills to restore, refresh, and care for homes that needed a little extra love.
At one home, our team worked with a couple who have lived in their two-story residence for over 15 years. One of the homeowners lives with a disability, and maintaining the exterior of the property had become increasingly difficult over time. Our volunteers completed a full exterior paint of the house, garage, and deck, and also addressed potential repairs to the retaining wall, trim, doors, and windows. To complete the transformation, we cleaned up the landscape to create a safer and more welcoming outdoor space. The homeowners were incredibly kind and grateful, and it was a joy to bring renewed life and comfort to the place they call home.
A few miles away, our second crew helped refresh a charming one and a half story home that had been owned by the same individual for nearly three decades. The homeowner, a longtime member of the community, welcomed our team with warmth and pride. Throughout the day, our team completed a full exterior repaint of the house and garage along with important repairs to the siding, fascia, trim, stairway, walkway, and deck. Seeing the homeowner’s joy at the end of the day reminded us exactly why this work matters. It is not just about painting and repairs. It is about restoring dignity, security, and comfort to those who deserve it most.
At Creative Homes, giving back is part of who we are. Whether we are designing dream homes or volunteering on Project Day, our goal is always the same: to improve lives through the power of home. We believe that a safe, well-maintained home can make all the difference in someone's life. We are proud to use our time, tools, and talents to support that mission. Every act of service, no matter how big or small, brings us closer to what we believe in.
