Yesterday marked a powerful and emotional milestone as Creative Homes officially broke ground on the 2026 Minneapolis St. Jude Dream Home® Showplace in our North Star Community of Lake Elmo, Minnesota. More than just the start of construction, the event symbolized the beginning of something much greater, a community coming together to make a life-changing impact. In partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, this home will help support the mission of advancing research and treatment for children battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
The groundbreaking brought together Creative Homes team members, trade partners, and supporters, all united by a shared purpose. What made the day especially impactful was hearing directly from one parent of a St. Jude patient. Their story was a powerful reminder of why this home matters. They spoke about the care, compassion, and hope their family experienced through St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and how support from initiatives like the Dream Home Showplace truly changes lives. It was a moment that grounded everyone in attendance and reinforced the importance of the mission.
One of the most meaningful parts of this journey is Creative Homes’ commitment to becoming a St. Jude “Zero Hero.”This means the 2026 St. Jude Dream Home® Showplace is being built at zero cost to the charity, made possible through the generosity of trade partners, vendors, and supporters who have donated their time, materials, and expertise. Because of this incredible effort, every dollar donated goes directly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, helping fund critical research and life-saving treatments for children battling cancer. Families never receive a single bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food so they can focus entirely on helping their child heal.
